In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Prayer of the Day
Almighty God, your Son came into the world to free us all from sin and death. Breathe upon us the power of your Spirit, that we may be raised to new life in Christ and serve you in righteousness all our days, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Gospel Reading John 11:1-6
[Note: you might want to read the entire story John 11:1-45]
"Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair.; her brother Lazarus was ill. So the sisters sent a message to Jesus,"Lord, he whom you love is ill." But when Jesus heard it, he said, "This illness does not lead to death; rather it is for God's glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it." Accordingly, though Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus, after having heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer in the place where he was."

Closing Prayer
Eternal God, we acknowledge that Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Help us to see what new life he can bring out of the pandemic we are now facing. May we be his hands and feet to help others who live in anxiety and have special needs at this time.
We pray now for those suffering from the coronavirus that they might be healed. May you protect those who are working in the medical field at this time as well as the first responders who must come into contact with those afflicted with this virus. We give thanks for the workers at Elsie's pantry last Thursday who handed out boxes of food to those who drove up in their cars. Keep our volunteers safe as they continue their work.
May you give guidance to the President of our nation and all others on the task force dealing with this crisis. At this difficult time, we pray that we might all work together in dealing with the current crisis. Amen.
Note: You might now pray for those you know who are in special need of prayer...Amen.
Blessing
Almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, bless you now and forever, Amen.
