Order of Worship for Palm Sunday
April 5
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Prayer of the Day
O God, we remember how your Son, before his passion, entered Jerusalem and was welcomed as king by those who shouted "Hosanna," and spread their clothing and branches of palm in his path. My you bless us this day as we remember his entrance into the holy city. Amen.
Gospel Reading - Matthew 11
Recorded Worship
Closing Prayer
Eternal God, may we understand the humble way he entered into Jerusalem. Let his humility also be in our lives so that we can live the life of service that our Lord did.
We pray now for those suffering from the coronavirus that they might be healed. May you protect those who are working in the medical field at this time as well as the first responders who must come into contact with those afflicted with this virus. We give thanks for the workers at Elsie's pantry last Thursday who handed out boxes of food to those who drove up in their cars. Keep our volunteers safe as they continue their work.
May you give guidance to the President of our nation and all others on the task force dealing with this crisis. At this difficult time, we pray that we might all work together in dealing with the current crisis. Amen.
Note: You might now pray for those you know who are in special need of prayer...Amen.
Blessing
Almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, bless you now and forever, Amen.
