"I approached one of the attendants to ask him the truth concerning all this. So he said that he would disclose to me the interpretation of the matter: As for these four great beasts, four kings shall arise out of the earth. But the holy ones of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever - forever and ever." Daniel 7:16-18
Putting this into today's context, we would think of individuals and terrorist groups intent on doing violent acts. The world after many centuries following the time of Christ is still caught up in wickedness and evil. How does one who is a believer deal with this situation?
It is to know that the future is in God's hands. Saints have something on which to have hope. We as saints shall receive the kingdom. What a glorious promise! When we might feel down and out, we can know that God will rise above all the evil that is present. Daniel was given hope that God could work good out of his people being in exile. So today, God would pass on a note of optimism to those who are saints.
I would invite you to reflect on these words in your preparation for worship this Sunday.
