"They were astounded at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Just then there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, 'What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.' But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him.!" (Mark 1:22-25)
Yes, Jesus had the power to heal. It was part of his authority. Here we see how Jesus is already in the beginning of his ministry confronting the power of Satan. Unfortunately, the struggle still continues with Satan's power in this world. That is why we must be on our guard.
On a personal level, we might be dealing with issues that are pulling us away from God (whether Satan's influence or not) and we can turn to Jesus to overcome whatever strong force is working against us. We can be made whole.
I invite you to reflect on Jesus' power and how his power might be instrumental in helping you to deal with something causing you trouble in your own life.
