“Soaring on Wings of an Eagle”  Isaiah 40:26-31

We face many challenges today, where a strong faith might be what is needed.

The Israelites in Babylonian exile were at a low point in their lives and needed encouragement.

The prophet Isaiah poses questions to have his people turn their thoughts to God.

God’s fingerprints can be seen in the stars, where each one is known individually.

Because of our trials, we might feel that our way is “hidden” from the Lord.

The God of heaven and Earth is able to give strength to the faint and weary.

The promise comes that “those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, and they shall mount up with wings like eagles.”  Is. 40:31

Jesus’ ministry served as an example of empowering people at their lowest times.

Discipleship Questions for Reflection

How willing have you been to wait on the Lord in difficult (if not hopeless) times?

Can you think of other places in Scripture that offer us God’s abiding presence in tough times? E.g. Matthew 11:28.

What things might people turn to other than God in difficult times?
